I was browsing trough my picture files, when I stumbled on this picture from 1995. It is me, repotting (alone) my huge Celtis chinensis that was still a part of my growing Bonsai collection. This tree, “THE LION CRUSHER” was absolutely magical to look at, just because it made you feel small again, like how you were looking at a tree as a child, from under need the canape. It was a shame I had to let this tree go, but after 6 years off struggling to stay healthy in my cold part of the world, it left for a warmer climate and is now living in France! But being able to show such a rare species in the “Ginkgo Awards” was a highlight for me. This tree made me fall in love with this art! I still miss it some times when I look into my garden!
